don, do you live in a non settling state? If not, your tax dollars aren't going anywhere with this case.
RE the case in general: I hope that some people do realize that the case itself shows the effectiveness of the laws of the United States. The stated purpose of the case is to protect the economy of the United States. Whether I agree with biased fools like Judge Jackson or seemingly unbiased folks like Judge Kolar Kotelly, I still think the legal system we have in this country is a good one.
If Sun feels it has been wronged by Microsoft, it has every right, indeed a duty, to sue Microsoft. It is very American to have an opinion and express it. It is very unAmerican to want to deny rights to a United States entity. In like manner when Microsoft feels it has been wronged (the Lindws.com case is a good example), it has the right and duty to sue.
Perhaps most important, if we as citizens are not satisfied with the performance of our elected representatives, we have a right and a duty to voice our opinions to them. We have a duty to vote on specific issues and on represenatives who represent our beliefs and values.
