The issues with the home edition have been far more reaching than anyone suspected they would be. Networking and the lack of RDC are two prime examples. TL |

| I thought Microsoft had an upgrade available for people who bought Home and really need Professional? |

| they should just put all the features in the os and have a choice to install or not. They should also do it at a price lower than Home. or give me a minimal upgrade pack that turns XP Home into Pro or MCE like they said they would. |

Actually, becker, Home has the same EXACT file permission stuff that Pro does, you just have to hold, I think, control as you right click and hit properties.... It's either control or shift, been a long time since the XP beta, so I don't remember.
Another thing, becker, quit trying to cheat with your number of posts, post it all in ONE post, not 1 sentence per post. |

If they did provide an upgrade from Home to Pro, it would probably cost $100, since that is the difference in price.
I don't recall hearing that anything would be upgradable to MCE. I don't see why the *should* do anything. |
