Microsoft and HP Unveil the Media Center PC

Previous forays into the living room left Microsoft with a mixed record. WebTV and UltimateTV were flops, while the Microsoft Xbox has been outsold but not overwhelmed by the Sony PlayStation. Now comes the new Windows XP Media Center Edition, an ambitious attempt to integrate home audio and video functionality into a high-end pc.
