The instant Microsoft releases a new build of the WinXP beta it gets warezed all over the web - this is well-known, and has been well-documented. But RC1 code available to all and sundry on a high-speed Microsoft download partner connection? That's original, isn't it? At time of writing (afternoon UK time, 4th July) WinXP RC1 code was available as a download from Conxion, without any kind of password protection or validation. | ||

| You are right, but you have to have a product code/serial # just like other versions of Windows to even install it. That is where I had to stop my installation of it. |

| If you're trying to get it, just use IRC, OK? I am a newbie to it. Today I downloaded mIRC, logged onto DalNet, found a channel called WinXP, and saw these "bots" offering it through XDCC. I quickly read up on file transfer through IRC, set up mIRC to receive the ISO file and the ZIP'ped crack file, turned off ignore, and followed the automated instructions for requesting the file packs to be sent to me. Within an hour I got it. Let's be nice to ActiveWin and not force them to delete our messages.... Instructions are fine....URL's aren't. And for what it's worth, the crack works, XP works, but the default theme HAS TO GO! |
