PC makers envision a Tablet triumph | |

It looks and acts like a cross between a clipboard and a computer and comes loaded with expectations of single-handedly sparking some life into the slumping PC market. Microsoft's Tablet PC will be available on November 7, but the hype is already under way in preparation for the launch. Last Thursday, the software firm and several of its hardware partners showcased their version of the new portable computers, with Microsoft officials predicting that within five years the majority of laptops in use would be Tablet PCs. | ||

| Other than the handwriting stuff, you can do all of that with a laptop. |

| It's not just the handwritting recognition, it's the digital ink software as a whole, there is some really amazing stuff that you can do with the inking techology if you take the time to look at it. |

I don't have the money for it, and therefore haven't taken the time.
I hope it satisfies you binhex. I don't see it as too much of a big deal, but I've been wrong before. I only just got a PocketPC, so maybe I'm a slow hardware adopter. |
