Does anyone know the REAL story on the status of UltimateTV ?
I so prefer it over Tivo, for many reasons, but I can't seem to get a straight answer as to what the future of UTV is. The UTV web site is not only out of date (for example, it shows rebates that expired in MAY!), but it isn't nearly as useful as it used to be. Now, they refer all questions to DirecTV. You used to be able to get (very excellent) support from them directly, and quickly, via Email. I would not be concerned but my current UTV box is developing proplems, and I may have to replace it (damned 90 day warranties :( ). I don't really like Tivo, but if UTV is headed the way of the Dodo, I need to know about it so I can make the switch, however much I may dislike it. TL |

Interesting...
Though it's not printed any longer, I dug through some old emails for the old UTV email address and sent them one. It's still active, at least. I got the standard "Well contact you within 24 hrs" reply. There is some hope yet :) That doesn't mean I'll actually get a response back, but at least there is hope! TL |
