Thanks to all those avid readers who have e-mailed in to let us know that Windows Media Player 9 Build 2773 has been leaked to the web. From the first looks it seems like a bunch of new themes and various other new features have been added to this release. | ||

You can find it at Neowin.net in the news section.
I'm not sure why its look is being compared to RealOne. The default skin is just silver; that's all. The UI is almost identical to WMP8, except for a few extra nifty things here and there. It looks quite good when using the Silver XP theme, which I imagine was part of the intention. |

Looks and works very nicely, but I can't say that I'm surprised. ;-)
I like the menu next to the Now Playing button, and the EQ is starting to be pretty cool. hmm... They've added buttons scattered about for most the menu options... And maybe it's just me, but I honestly think that's it's using less CPU than previous versions! Oh, and the toolbar really kicks some serious arse!?! I've been missing that since they pulled it from the XP Power Toys... It even puts up the song title for a few second between tracks! Damn, get WMP 9 and a little Alkaline Trio, then rock yr ass!!! hahaha This post was edited by IronCladLou on Monday, August 05, 2002 at 22:40. |
