I think the point of devices like these is to use the headphone ear piece/microphone, so that you can use the software features of the device while you're on the phone. Make sense?

Or, at least I would never put the whole thing up to my head ... well, unless I HAD too!

I wonder how well the speaker phone works. Anyone know?

I will hold off any opinions on this device since I've been only using it for 6.5 hrs, but I have to say that it sure does work.

John Doe ...there is another form factor coming out by the end of the year.
It is called Sendo SmartPhone. Of course it will be running Microsoft's OS.

The SmartPhone is more of a cell phone than a PDA.

IronCladLou ...the speaker phone works pretty well from the test that I've been doing.
I've been asking people to give me a call, and I could hear them good and they could hear me clearly.

I'm pretty impress by it so far.

This looks like sh*t!!! If M$ want to launch this type of device then make it Bluetooth. This way it would make it more comfortable to use is, especially women with makeup.

ps. M$ says bluetooth is crap! We have two mobile's that are bluetooth ready and they work like a dream. We just go our headsets and it makes alot more easier to not get tangled up in wires anymore.

Belto my comments. It is already out.

Remember this is not only a phone, it is actually more of a PDA, so it is designed to be used with both hands. Plus with the current battery technology that we have, it will drain the PDA's battery if you use BT.

By the way Belto ...this system is only $450 with a $50 rebate. If you add BT, it will cost more. The device was designed a few years ago when PPC 2002 came out, and it just finally made it here in the US. T-Mobile (German Company) took this form and sold it in Europe, and now in the US w/ out any modification. Another thing, it has a SD card slot, so it can use a BT technology.

MS didn't say that BT is crap. MS decided not to add it to Windows XP because at the time XP was about to go gold, their wasn't much BT devices out their to test. MS couldn't guarantee the stabily / compatibilty of the technology with XP at that time.

Hello #9,

Sorry, but we never seen this device in Europe!! Unless I am loosing touch. M$ did say that BT is a piece of crap. It was posted on one of the webistes such as this, but I cannot remember which one. So sorry about that.

O.K. I just went to T-Mobile webiste in Germany and they just launched this device in Europe. So once again sorry, but I still think it looks like sh$t!! I did not say it was not already out anyhow!! Why did they not just make it bluetooth ready. It would make it alot more comfortable still.

Lets correct a few things here.

One MS writes the software. another company designs the hardware.

While Pocket PC may not natively support BT (which I think it does because there are devices out that do have BT in it. XP doesn't but I do believe that Pocket PC does)

It was the decision of the manufactorer not to put in BT not MS.
There are other devices that do.

Personally Iwould rather have WIFI than BT anyway.
