Microsoft announced Wednesday a partnership with AT&T Wireless to offer wireless software and services to corporate customers.
As expected, the companies said they plan to distribute software on Pocket PCs, Smartphones and laptops that will provide wireless access to e-mail, information and applications behind corporate firewalls. The companies will also cooperate on development, joint sales and account planning, and marketing.
Microsoft has been trying to attract more enterprise customers to devices using its Pocket PC 2002 operating system. Over the past several months, the company has announced partnerships with several wireless carriers, including VoiceStream, Sprint PCS and Verizon.
