Further evidence of Microsoft's uncanny knack for publicity is provided by the story of a Canadian victim of the company's anti-piracy campaign. According to Canadian newswire CP Wire, 41 year old disabled mother of four Brenda Avery found herself on the receiving end of the full might of the Redmond SWAT team and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. She defended herself against charges of selling counterfeit Microsoft software (just a couple of packages proven out of stock of 800, apparently), succeeded, and now is demanding compensation and a phone call from Bill Gates. | ||

Start off with a headline making you think that Bill Gates is killing babies and mothers of babies, then we find out that this chick is distributing counterfeit software. | The day I see that the Register Articles we post generate less click-throughs than MS Security Bulletins, then I will stop posting them. (There is a huge gap). What I mean is that we can see the majority of the people read them compared to the few that do not. |

| #5, yes we are a overwhelmingly pro-Microsoft website, but we are not going to be close minded to the point of not posting negative Microsoft news. By posting this, we don't share the Register's viewpoint, however we are providing the news to our readers so they can conjure opinion's about the news such as yourself. |

I would rather you start posting genuine MS dissent rather than blatantly sensationalistic or even false crap. We have demonstrated over and over how The Register editorializes in their articles, posts false information, and sensationalizes. It is doing AW's reputation a great disservice by posting such obviously poor material. Perhaps you should start posting Weekly World News articles or Enquirer articles while you're at it. |
