Microsoft is putting the finishing touches on the third collection of Windows 2000 bug fixes, which is nearly ready for release after a protracted period of testing, sources said. The update, Windows 2000 Service Pack 3, contains vital security updates and hundreds of fixes to bugs plaguing the operating system that Microsoft released in February 2000. Service Pack 3 could be important for many businesses, as not all of the included security fixes are available as separate downloads. | ||

I was told just last week to expect both in August. But nothing is firm until you see an announcement on microsoft.com saying it's available.
Like a good wine, software takes time. :) |

I think the stupidest part of the article is where they talk about how big the service pack is, like an administrator wouldn't deploy sp3 because it was "too big". what kind of crap is that? Your average networking is gonna have at least a 100k connection.
"But some businesses won't find this to be a light download, which weighs in for some installations at more than 150MB, according to the update's "Read Me" file. Service Pack 3 can be applied to Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Advanced Server and Windows 2000 with Server Appliance Kit. The size of the update could change depending on the version of Windows and type of installation, such as single computer or network. " After reading that i just skippedthe article, nothing new just summaries. I wish sites would just post the NEW info, not all these summaries. Maybe if i went online once a year the summaries would be nice, but there just a waste of space. -GOSH |
