Microsoft Corp. said its proposed dlrs 1.3 billion acquisition of Danish business-application software company Navision AS has been approved in the United Kingdom. Microsoft said late Thursday that the British secretary of state for trade and industry, Patricia Hewitt, has decided not to refer the transaction to the Competition Commission. The deal, which gives the Redmond, Washington-based software giant an outlet for selling accounting, payroll, inventory, customer-tracking and other related software to small and midsize businesses in Europe, now has been cleared by all the competition authorities to which it has applied for approval.
