Palm Inc on Monday said it has begun sending to handheld computer makers a more potent version of the software that drives the pocket-sized organizers, which it hopes will squash the advances of rival Microsoft Inc. and revitalize demand that has been flagging. Palm, the leading maker of handhelds and the operating system (OS) software that powers them, said it has started shipping the completed Palm OS 5 to licensees and developers. | ||
