Just weeks after Windows 8 was consigned to the history books, Microsoft’s latest operating system Windows 10 has overtaken its predecessor Windows 8.1 in terms of installs on 13.7pc of PCs worldwide.
However, Windows 10 still has a long way to go before it can catch up with Windows 7, which is on 47.7pc of computers, according to the latest data from StatCounter.
Only a few weeks ago Microsoft ended support for Windows 8, Microsoft’s awkward and reactive plunge into the world of tablet computing.
