The current pressure of his job must be something to behold, so it’s to Nintendo President Satoru Iwata’s credit that he remains so calm in the face of disaster. The 3DS might be selling extraordinarily well, but the Wii U – already retailing at a loss to begin with – continues to fumble its way through some particularly worrying results. Yet that humble visage never falters. My admiration for the man has only increased considering his willingness to hold up his hands and accept the Wii U’s mistakes (in this case, a damning lack of software support). Regardless of whether theirs is a problem which can be solved with liberal applications of Mario, Nintendo’s sincere, upfront attitude is something that the rest of the industry could learn volumes from. Even if their sales-figures are enviable, Microsoft demonstrates why your outlook is every bit as important as your business plan. | ||
