Microsoft pushed out a massive Patch Tuesday release fixing vulnerabilities in practically every single one of its Windows operating systems and several server products for February.
There are 12 security bulletins in this month's update, tackling a whopping 57 vulnerabilities, Microsoft said in its security advisory for February's Patch Tuesday. The good thing is that only five of the bulletins are considered critical, and all the remaining ones are rated "important," meaning administrators can take some time to apply them.
"It’s going to be a rough Valentine’s Day for many IT admins this month. With ongoing issues with Java and 12 bulletins from Microsoft, including 5 critical issues and many restarts, it’s going to be a very disruptive Patch Tuesday," said Paul Henry, security analyst with Lumension.
