Really? You dropped your cell phone in the urinal?
Really? Texting is more thrilling than your girlfriend’s striptease?
You may remember these scenarios from Microsoft’s “Really?” Windows Phone 7 ad campaign, which says “it’s time for a phone to save us from our phones.” But a gag-gift company says it got there first.
Cellrderm, which sells novelty Nicoderm-style patches to alleviate “cell-phone addition,” is suing Microsoft for copyright infringement over its “Bathroom Really” and “Bedroom Really” commercials. The Boca Raton, Fla.-based company alleges Microsoft and its ad agency, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, ripped off two online Cell-R-Derm ads, with essentially the same scenarios.
