Xbox started off with a poor launch and lackluster software sales when it made its debut in Japan. As time went on, the system showed lower sales and popular news service Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported that used Xbox units were selling at extremely low prices. The Xbox woes in Japan continue today with reports that Japanese distributors are becoming impatient with low sales and, as a result, are offering 30% discounts on the system. According to National Console Support X (NCSX) while software sales are, for the most part, not faring too badly some titles that aren’t performing as well as expected are also having their prices slashed.
