Now that Windows 7 is finally available, there undoubtedly are many users who are preparing for an upgrade from Windows XP or Windows Vista. There's just one problem: An upgrade from Windows XP is not easily done. Microsoft didn't build in a direct migration path to Windows 7, which will force users to find clever ways to back up their data and move it to the new operating system. Windows Vista is a different story, as there is a direct migration path to Windows 7, making it easy for users to get the new operating system up and running quickly with all their settings.
