The online magazine Slate named its chief political correspondent, Jacob Weisberg, its new editor.
Weisberg was tapped after Slate's founding editor, Michael Kinsley, who will stay on as an adviser, said he was stepping down. The magazine announced the appointment Monday.
Kinsley founded Slate in June 1996. Weisberg covered the presidential election for it that year as well as in 2000, and has worked as an editor at the magazine.
