IGN have posted an In Depth article on the Character Creation for the highly anticipated RPG, Morrowind. Please note you need to be a member of IGN Insider to go to the article. Here is some of the article:
Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind arrives in May for both PC and Xbox. There is a lot of excitement brewing over this title as it promises quite a lot. With over 200 hours of gameplay and a massive free -roaming world, Morrowind could well consume your life. Morrowind lets you do what you want, when you want. With dozens of skills and spells to learn, your character will have plenty of opportunities for growth. To whet your whistle, IGN brings you a look at the character creation process in Morrowind. After all, you have to start somewhere.
As Morrowind begins, you are literally fresh off the boat. Having just arrived in Morrowind, your character (who you name... I chose Dude) must first visit the census office before you can begin your adventure in earnest. It is these first few moments where you choose your character's race, appearance, and class. While your character can greatly change through the course of Morrowind, these initial steps start you on your path.
Before you hit the census office, you will be stopped at the docks by a guard. Here you'll choose your race, sex, and appearance. Don't worry if you change your mind once you are in the census office as these selections can be changed at any time before you finish with the census taker. Scroll through the list of races and review their pluses and minuses. Each race offers benefits and some have drawbacks. You can choose from several different faces for each race by pressing the black button. The white button cycles through the various hair. How can you not want an orc with a cropped mohawk? Want a sexy looking lizard-girl? Just press X to switch gender.
The In-Depth article goes into loads of details, giving you a list of Races you can be with the pros and cons of it, the attributes and skills defined, what classes you can be, and which astrological signs you can be and what they mean.
