After a year on the market, Microsoft is slashing the price of its Windows Home Server software by 30 percent.
In a blog post, the Windows Home Server team said it was cutting the price in order to "further promote the home server category." The group said momentum was strong.
Bill Gates announced Windows Home Server at the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2007. The product essentially allows PC users to easily back up, store, and share their data on a server in their home.
