Buying a new Zune today? Then you should rush over to Mickey D's afterward, buy some fries, grab several napkins so you don't grease up the media player, and try the free Wi-Fi.
The deal between Microsoft and Wayport, the provider of network services for McDonald's restaurants across the nation, means Zune users get free online access with their players for the next three years. You can't use Zune to surf the Web, but you can use the player to buy music. There's a new feature called Buy from FM, so as you listen to FM radio on the integrated tuner and hear a song you like, one click can buy it from the Zune Marketplace. The free Wi-Fi works for existing Zunes, too, not just the new hardware released today.
