Startup Vernier Networks on Monday announced new 802.11b wireless local-area network (WLAN) products with some interesting manageability features.
The Vernier 6000 series consists of three primary products:
The CS 6000 Control Server, which supplies centralized security configuration and management for tens to thousands of wireless access points and wireless users. It's designed to coordinate activities of multiple access managers throughout an enterprise, allowing users to roam across subnets with the persistence of a single session, and also supporting delivery of location-based services. Its Rights Manager feature lets administrators set policies for individuals and groups based on user identity, application, time of day, and other factors. Prices start at $6,000.
