Electric Playground have posted a review of New Legends. Here is a snippet of the review:
At times I wonder if 3D gaming is all its cracked up to be. Now I don't want to sound like a cranky, old geezer ("In my day we had real games like Pong and Space Invaders..."), but I am convinced that certain genres have not improved with 3D graphics. Don't get me wrong, the videogame industry as a whole has benefited from the more advanced graphics, but I feel certain games were just better in 2D. With the possible exception of platform games (which was scientifically perfected with Super Mario World), the sidescrolling beat 'em up has suffered the most. Most of the modern 3D games like Fighting Force just don't hold a candle to old school games like Double Dragon or Final Fight. To prove my point, just take a look at THQ's New Legends. In this mediocre action title the gameplay is actually hampered by having a 3D environment. If it weren't for the great storyline this game would be a complete waste.
