Regional telephone giant SBC Communications Corp. tried to fend off competition from Microsoft Corp in the telecommunications arena with a special "strike team", an attorney for the software giant told federal court on Monday. Microsoft cited SBC e-mails about the group to counter SBC manager Larry Pearson's testimony that Microsoft was positioned to crush competition in the emerging market for Internet-based services, unless the court imposed stiff sanctions. | ||
