VIA Technologies, Inc, a leading innovator and developer of silicon chip technologies and PC platform solutions, today announced the first results of its independent DDR333 validation programme with Advanced Validation Labs, in which memory modules from leading vendors successfully achieved full validation.
With the launch of the VIA Apollo KT333 for the AMD Athlon™ XP processor and the VIA Apollo P4X333 for the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor, memory manufacturers and module suppliers including Micron Technology and Kingston Technology have started to ship DDR333 (PC2700) modules and devices specifically tested by AVL for compatibility with VIA chipsets.
The VIA-certified system validation involves the testing of memory modules using VIA's reference platform and AVL's leading-edge equipment and software. The specific validation process, co-developed by AVL and VIA, includes testing at various voltages and thermal ranges to further stress the memory modules.
