During a live webcast of the opening session at Microsoft Corp.’s eighth annual Microsoft Research Faculty Summit, which begins Monday, July 16, Microsoft Research will announce its external research agenda and academic funding for the year. The two-day event, which is expected to draw more than 400 thought leaders from academia and research labs around the world, will include a panel discussion on the morning of July 16 with leaders from Microsoft, government and industry about the future of computing. A Web site with additional press material will go live at 9 a.m. PDT.
Throughout the summit, Microsoft executives and researchers will meet with attendees to discuss current research as well as opportunities for future technological breakthroughs in areas ranging from multicore and emerging markets to mobility, robotics and gaming.
