At the CeBIT VIA presents a C3 processor for notebooks with a clock rate of 933 MHz. The CPU is based on the C5X core and shall stand out due to a very low power consumption.
Like the version for desktops the mobile VIA C3 processor is based on the C5X core. The CPU is equiped with a 128 Kbytes L1 and 64 Kbytes L2 cache. It is produced in 0.13 micron process and is delivered in a µFCPGA case. VIA offers the mobile CPU, like the desktop version, with a maximum clock rate of 933 MHz.
VIA's mobile C3 933 supports by means of its C5X core the MMX and the 3DNow! command set. The FSB of the mobile C3 synchronizes optionally with 100 or 133 MHz. Because of its low core voltage of 1.35 volts the mobile C3 933 shall take 6 watts power at an average. But VIA has not yet integrated the power saving technology LongHaul. LongHaul lowers the CPU's supply voltage with the processor rate and resembles Intel's SpeedStep and AMD's PowerNow!.
