Mary Jo Foley, the famous ZDNet journalist, that has covered Microsoft news for years, has just announced she'll move. Here is a snippet of what she wrote in her last column:
It's the end of an era. After three years of dogging Microsoft (and a few other software companies) in my weekly column for ZDNet News, I am moving on. I will be continuing to write about Microsoft and other companies, but in a new venue that has yet to be publicly announced. Stay tuned. It's been a wild ride covering Microsoft as a beat reporter, pretty much full-time for the past eight years. I've had a chance to see the company grow, hunker down in full siege-mentality mode, and jump through hoops to reposition itself from a shrinkwrap software company to an Internet company, and then, to a hybrid software-as-a-service vendor.
