For four months, the Justice Department and Microsoft Corp have maintained that their antitrust settlement will invigorate the ailing technology sector. During that same time, many top technology companies have made no secret of their skepticism. But only one person really counts: U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, who is empowered to approve or reject the deal. By the end of a court hearing Wednesday, her questioning of the parties involved may shed some light on what she thinks of the plan.
