With the original Xbox only 10% of users took the system online, but back in September 2005, Microsoft chief Xbox officer and senior vice president Robbie Bach predicted that with the Xbox 360 the number of users going online would increase to around 50%. Well now it appears that Microsoft undershot, having confirmed that 60% of Xbox 360 users have taken the console online. "We were like, 'Well, it's the hardcore gamers, this is going to drop off over time,'" Xbox Live group marketing manager Aaron Greenberg told GameSpot. "A lot of people gave us this feedback. And what we've actually seen is it went from 50 to 55, and now it's at 60. And so we're not just sustaining it, we're growing that."
