Microsoft Jordan discussed intellectual property and anti-piracy features with partners in the Kingdom at the "Microsoft System Builder Partner Summit" in a bid to solidify their collaboration in developing a suitable ICT ecosystem.
Other subjects discussed included an introduction to new programmes aimed at helping partners sell more products and generate more revenues.
National Library Director General Maamoun Talhouni emphasised the need to protect the burgeoning intellectual property (IP) industry in Jordan and create a suitable ecosystem conducive to its growth including greater IP awareness and protection. He highlighted the fact that the percentage of the IP industry's contribution to gross domestic product currently stood at a low 0.6 per cent.
Microsoft Country Manager Zeid Shubailat discussed the state of piracy in the region highlighting that Microsoft considers the ICT sector in Jordan as a promising and continuously growing sector.
He introduced Microsoft tools to promote the use of genuine software.
