In fact, there is a painstakingly creative and thorough attention to gameplay in the design of Soldier of Fortune II that you rarely see. More than just a bag of single player missions with a multiplayer game stapled onto it, Soldier of Fortune II includes a number of extras, such as the random mission generator where you choose from a variety of scenarios, terrains, objectives and difficulties and create a new mission on the fly. Don't forget, either, that the single player mission will take you through 70 levels... more than enough for even the most demanding gamer. The multiplayer game is similarly robust; the usual deathmatch, team deathmatch and capture the flag game types are available, but Infiltration and Elimination are also included, as well as a keen random map generating technology. I particularly liked the last feature: While the maps generated by the game aren't exactly star quality, they do put everyone on a common ground as no-one knows the terrain, and that infuses the combat with an element of realism and freshness.
