As reported in weeks gone by, Microsoft's assault on Japanese gamers ahead of the Xbox 360 debut is gathering pace rapidly, with the 'Xbox Lounge' in Tokyo finally opening this week. Redmond will hoping that initiatives like the flashy 'Lounge' can entice Japanese punters to buy a few more of the new Xbox systems than they did the lacklustre original. Certainly the Lounge will prove an ideal showcase, fashionably located in up-town Tokyo... though the real test will be whether the games prove more luring than the last lot. Most Japanese gamers don't really rate the Xbox brand, a fact many attribute to the games available on the system, and cracking this key region is vital to Microsoft if the Xbox 360 is going to prove a hit.
