Tech wizards are gearing up for their biggest showcase of the year -- the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where hundreds of new gadgets and gizmos will be unveiled.
Analysts are predicting that DVD burners will be the hot sellers in 2002. And Mediostream, a 2-year-old software company based in San Jose, Calif., has the perfect use for them -- transferring home movies that people have been making for years.
"That's why you record them," said Gordon Doran of Mediostream. "You record them because they are special moments that you want to keep, and (if) you put them on a medium that's going to degrade in time, then you're going to lose them in the long run."
