U.S. stock futures pointed to a strong market open on Thursday, led by technology stocks after better-than-expected earnings from Apple Computer Inc. (and chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices Inc. and ahead of consumer prices and retail sales data.
The market could also get some support from oil prices edging below $60 a barrel after a healthy increase in U.S. distillate inventories. Lower oil prices are considered good for stocks as they lift the pressure on corporate profits and consumer spending.
