World’s Largest Software Company Microsoft announced on Friday that they would soon enter the Anti-Virus Solutions market and proved that the rumors were true. It would be selling the basic protection against viruses and Spyware as a subscription service. They call the service Windows OneCare and it is currently under tests by the company’s employees.
The aim is to help the end consumer stay on top of a computer’s overall health by providing automatic updates of antivirus software. It also promises to take automated system maintenance tasks, which the end user often ignores or simply forgets. This would include taking backup of critical data and running system utilities like disk de-fragmentation etc.
