Based on the hit movie of the same name, Shrek has been one of Microsoft's favorite titles to parade before the mainstream media. This adventure game -- developed by Canada's Digital Illusions -- features platform-style gameplay and extremely striking visuals. The latter is so impressive that Microsoft chose the game to show off the Xbox's capabilities to a group of Wall Street analysts. And while Wall Street was certainly dazzled by the graphics, your typical stock analyst knows as much about gameplay as we do about mutual funds. To use a NASDAQ analogy, Shrek is very similar to a dot-com fad stock; the graphics will get a lot of people's attention and create buzz, but there's nothing of substance to make them stay with it. | ||
