In their "Xbox: We Got Next" series, Gamespy claims to have the early scoop on the specs for Microsoft's next generation Xbox, expected to be released at the end of this year. Their info is reportedly based on early development kits and Microsoft's current projections for the next Xbox. Gamespy's source? "friends in the development community". Here's a clip on the CPU and GPU:
CPU - Xenon's CPU has three 3.0 GHz PowerPC cores. Each core is capable of two instructions per cycle and has an L1 cache with 32 KB for data and 32 KB for instructions. The three cores share 1 MB of L2 cache. Alpha 2 developer kits currently have two cores instead of three.
