HD DVD Promotion Group Wants to Power Xbox 2 | |

The group led by NEC Corp. may make drives to be used in the Xbox 2, a NEC executive revealed today. The Group aims to convince Microsoft that HD DVD is the best next-generation optical disc format to power the Xbox successor.
Last month, Sony officially confirmed that its next generation PlayStation will use the Blu-ray Disc ROM (BD-ROM) format. It has been said many times that the adoption of the DVD format in the PlayStation 2 played a key role in promoting DVD-Video while helping establish the huge installed base of Sony's console.
With Sony already choosing Blu-ray Disc, will Microsoft choose HD DVD to power the Xbox 2? Only time will tell. | ||
