What console launch would be complete without a racing game or two? One of the first titles you'll see for the Xbox as it storms into homes everywhere is Mad Dash Racing, a curious blend of high-speed racing and platformer action from Crystal Dynamics and EIDOS Interactive. In the tradition of such games as Mario Kart and CTR, Mad Dash Racing is a blisteringly fast racer for one to four players with bizarre tracks, edgy characters, and exhilarating action. The setup for Mad Dash Racing goes something like this. An evil pint sized wizard named Hex has devised a diabolical plan to take over the world. In order to execute his plan, he must collect seven red meteor chunks, which will power his mysterious machine. Getting the chunks won't be easy, so he convinces the Tremmel King, the Austrian accented lord of the Tremmels, to hold a race open to even the strangest of athletes. At the end of each course is one of the red meteor chunks, which Hex plans on stealing from the victor. To lure the cast of oddball characters to do his bidding, Hex offers a prize pig, and much to his dismay, also his magic scepter.
