Thanks to Kobold on this one. It turns out that patent 174465 filed 125 years ago today was that of Alexander Graham Bell's "Improvement in Telegraphy" patent. I think it some way if he didn't file the patent that he did that we might not even be able to do our thing on the Internet as we do today. The above link is to the United States Dept of Commerce, Patent & Trademark Office which has a complete copy of his patent for us to view. It is actually quite interesting. There are a total of six pages, some of which are orginal drawings. You need Quicktime plugin to view the tif images. | ||
