The head of digital audio services company RealNetworks has appealed to Steve Jobs, Apple’s chairman, to have their two companies form a “tactical alliance” against Microsoft in the digital music sector before the software giant introduces its own digital music store, expected sometime in the near future.
Rob Glaser, Real’s CEO, sent an e-mail directly to Mr Jobs last week suggesting the strategy, according to the New York Times newspaper, which had obtained a copy of the letter.
