  Chips to ease Microsoft's big security nightmare

Buffer overflows that have led to recent exploits of Microsoft's technology could be prevented in the next wave of microprocessors being developed by chip makers AMD and Intel. For example, AMD is working on a chip that will divide memory into sections for stored data and for programming instructions. Such a partition will automatically cause a failure if someone tries to execute code from the data-only section.
