Looks like Ahead has released some information about Recode v2. Recode is the DVD transcoding software in the new Nero Burning ROM 6 Suite. It allows users to copy dual layer DVDs to DVD recordable media, either by compressing video, removing titles, or splitting onto multiple discs.

Here is just some of what is listed on the data sheet:

  - Decide which audio tracks and subtitles to keep or remove
  - Decide which video titles and extras to keep or remove
  - Replace unwanted video titles with slideshow, custom picture, or custom color
  - Decide if you want to keep any DVD-ROM material or even add your own data files
  - Decide if you want to keep or delete "unreferenced material"
• Video and audio preview with expanded window view and fullscreen mode. Includes full Dolby Digital audiopreview (DTS preview through S/PDIF)
• Unique Watch-while-you-Burn mode allows you to enjoy the movie in full screen video and multichannel audio while copying a full DVD, re-authoring a DVD or converting DVDs to Nero Digital
• Quick or deep analysis mode with video preview to guarantee the best possible quality when re-sizing
• Burn to disc, create a disc image, or save to hard drive
