When it comes to treating exaggerated fears that interfere with daily life, more mental health experts are turning to PCs for help in getting patients back on track. Inexpensive computer games provide virtual environments that may be helpful in treating people with phobias, according to an article in the October 2003 issue of CyberPsychology & Behavior, a peer-reviewed journal. More than 11 million Americans suffer from phobias at any given time.
