Microsoft Corp. Chairman Bill Gates plans to meet with representatives from major automakers during a visit to Michigan later this month. "We continue to increase our level of partnership with, and focus on, the auto industry," Scott Carlton, Microsoft's general manager of technology sales for the United States, told The Detroit News for a Wednesday story. "Visits like this from Bill ... solidify the partnership and make sure we're doing the right things with our products for the industry," said Carlton, who's office is in Southfield.
