Silicon Giants Intel and Broadcom have agreed to settle their differences, with the latter paying the former $60 million.
The long drawn out litigation between the two firms is now over – with Broadcom apparently paying $30 million in this quarter and $30 million in the next. As a result of this BRCM will take a charge for this in its second quarter.
The dispute, as reported here earlier, related to graphics technology – but it's the only latest round in a very litigious three years or so.
The two firms will cross license the graphics technology and that agreement will last until 2008.
