YES, IT CERTAINLY is a lovely little notebook this Panasonic CF-W2. Here in London we're having a week of sunshine that's causing all our infrastructure like roads, railways and tubes, to creak at the seams. The INQ office hasn't got air conditioning, so what better, we thought, than to go outside with our lovely lovely Centrino and write up our little stories.
But the darn machine was refusing to connect to our wireless LAN, or rather it was connecting but then the connection would be lost.
We tried everything. What were we doing wrong? In desperation, we turned to Intel's Centrino network page where we discovered that a Microsoft WPA patch – Q815485 -- can cause connection loss. Intel says that "The change is best characterized as a resequencing of events that V1.1.6.0 or earlier driver isn't expecting nor can accommodate".
